Press a Record

Your own playlist, pressed as a record with its own label.

Five bands and six presets to shape how your own files sound.

Lock Screen and StandBy

A tiny record that fills as the song plays, and a bedside view with the clock.

App icons

Four icons to choose from, under Appearance in Settings.

A gentle start

A short tour and a few one-time tips, then it gets out of the way.

Your music

Apple Music and your own files.

Otáčka is designed to play both. Apple Music songs are protected, so a few sound features only work on your own files. If something isn't available, the app says so plainly.

Questions

The sensible stuff.

What does the name mean?

Otáčka is Czech for one full turn, or rotation. You say it OH-tahch-kah.

Do I need Apple Music?

No. It's designed to work with your own music files too, and with Apple Music if you subscribe.

Does it work with Spotify?

Not at the moment. Otáčka is built for Apple Music and your own files.

Does it play real vinyl sounds?

No. Your music plays as it should. The record is there to look at and to control, without any fake crackle.

Will it handle a huge library?

That's the plan. The shelf has been designed around libraries with hundreds of albums, with sorting, a letter index and search.

When is it coming, and on what?

iPhone first. Join the list and you'll hear when it's ready.
